Fly High Media was proud to take part in the first Hospice Sports Day, held in support of Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford.
The event brought local organisations together for an afternoon of friendly competition, fundraising and community spirit, all in aid of a hospice that provides care and support for people across Chester, Cheshire and the surrounding area.
The event took place during the recent heatwave, making it a very hot day for everyone taking part. Our team still enjoyed getting involved, cheering each other on and playing their part in a positive local event.
For Fly High Media, taking part was about more than an afternoon away from the office. It was an opportunity to support a charity that plays a valued role in the local community, helping people living with life-limiting illness, along with their families and loved ones.
The first Hospice Sports Day raised more than £6,000 for Hospice of the Good Shepherd, helping support the charity’s continued care for people and families across the local region.
As a registered charity, Hospice of the Good Shepherd must generate 75% of its running costs through funding and donations, and it costs over £7,000 per day to keep it running, but all care services are free to those who need them.
Matt Pyke, Managing Director of Fly High Media, said:
“We were proud to take part in the first Hospice Sports Day and support Hospice of the Good Shepherd. It was a really hot day, but the team had a great time getting involved, supporting one another and contributing to such a positive local event. The hospice does fantastic work across the region, and events like this are a brilliant way for local businesses and teams to come together for a meaningful cause. We’re pleased Fly High Media could play a small part in supporting the continued work of the hospice.”
The afternoon was filled with laughter, teamwork and friendly competition, with teams taking part in a range of events, from egg and spoon, sack race and three-legged race, together with welly-wanging and a team relay; all cheering one another on throughout the day.
Taking part reflects Fly High Media’s commitment to supporting charities and community initiatives close to home. As a business based in the North West, the agency recognises the value of contributing to local causes and giving the team opportunities to support organisations making a real difference.
Fly High Media would like to thank Hospice of the Good Shepherd for organising the event, with special thanks to Toni Waters and the hospice team for bringing everyone together.
