Contemporary Six is an independent contemporary art gallery in Manchester, specialising in original works and limited editions from established British artists. Main Challenge
The website was built on the Artlogic platform, which is not the most flexible or SEO friendly system to work with. This limited technical control, restricted on-page optimisation opportunities and made structural improvements more complex. As a result, improving visibility for high value artist searches required a strategic approach that worked within the constraints of the platform while still delivering measurable organic growth.

About the Client
Contemporary Six partnered with Fly High Media in November 2024 to improve organic visibility and increase enquiries for specific, high profile artists. Objectives.
The primary objective was to improve organic visibility for high profile, well known artists that key competitors were already ranking strongly for, but Contemporary Six were not. A further objective was to strengthen and refine the category pages for specific artists, improving their structure, content depth and optimisation to better support rankings, enhance user experience and drive more qualified enquiries.
Challenges.
One of the main challenges was that the website was built on the Artlogic platform, which limited technical flexibility and restricted the level of control we typically have over core SEO elements. There were a number of structural and on page changes that could not be implemented due to platform constraints, and support from the provider was often slow or limited in scope.
Despite this, we worked strategically within the system’s limitations, prioritising the areas we could influence and adapting our approach to ensure meaningful improvements in visibility and enquiry performance.
